COVID-19 Awareness & Information For ACU Members

Main Office

Important Update: July 6, 2020

Thank you for your patience as we have adjusted to the new way of “normal” at our branches. The safety of our members and employees is always our top priority and we are staying up to date with advice from state and local authorities on the best ways to ensure this safety.

Starting July 6, 2020, all ACU members and employees will be required to wear masks in our branches. You may have also noticed the plexiglass at our teller stations and the social distancing markers on the floor for added protection. Additionally, we have continued to follow enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols that include cleaning commonly used areas and equipment in high-touch surfaces.

We request that all members who come into branches for service and shared branching wear a mask for the additional protection of other members and ACU employees. If you do not have a mask, we would be happy to provide you with one.

Again, your safety and the safety of all of our members and staff is always ACU’s top priority. We appreciate your cooperation during this time.

Important Update: June 15, 2020

We want to share some good news! After over two months of modified branch access, we have begun reopening several of our branches for walk-in lobby access.

The following branches opened for walk-in lobby access on June 15:

  • Augusta - Wheeler Road
  • Decatur
  • Ellenwood
  • Lawrenceville - Buford Drive
  • Lawrenceville - Grayson Highway
  • Main Office

The following branches opened for walk-in lobby access on June 8:

  • Carrollton
  • Dawsonville
  • Dobbins Air Reserve Base
  • Evans Towne Centre
  • Ft. McPherson
  • Norcross
  • North Druid Hills
  • Oakwood
  • South Augusta – Hephzibah
  • Vinings – Home Depot

In some cases, “reopening” will mean something different. Still, in every situation, we’ll have health and safety procedures in place for teammates, and clear guidance for our members on how to conduct your financial needs. We’ll also be carefully following advice from state and local authorities to ensure that ACU is operating in compliance with any restrictions within the counties we work.

We’re doing our part to make your lobby experience as safe as possible for everyone, and we need your help. When you come into our branches, you’ll see the following:

  • Lobby Capacity Limits: We will limit the number of members to a maximum of ten (10) at a time (dependent upon branch size) to allow for proper physical distancing in every branch.
  • Social Distancing: We installed floor markers to encourage proper physical distance between yourself, other members, and our teammates.
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting: We are following enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocol that includes cleaning commonly used areas and equipment in high-touch surfaces.
  • Protective Barriers: We installed protective barriers at our teller line to protect both you and our teammates.
  • Limited Exposure: We will be prohibiting outside food and beverage from entering the branch locations, and additionally will not allow restroom use by non-ACU employees to limit contact and exposure.

Also, we changed our hours of operation.

  • Branch Hours:
    • Monday—Friday Hours: Our branches are now open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except for our Main Office Branch and Augusta Branches.
      • The Main Office Branch will remain open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Wednesday.
      • Augusta Branches will be open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday through Friday.
    • Saturday Hours: As of now, only branches with drive-thru windows at North Druid Hills and Dobbins Air Reserve Base will be open on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM with drive-thru service only.
      • To encourage safety and health regulations, we are not allowing staff members to work at multiple branches – so our staffing availability will be limited during this transition. Allowing team members to work at only one branch helps us to better track potential exposure.
  • Live Teller Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs): Our Live Teller Drive-Thru ITMs are located at the Main Office, Ellenwood, Lawrenceville-Grayson Highway, Lawrenceville-Buford Drive, and Wheeler Road (Augusta) Branches. Walk-up Live Teller ITMs are located at the Decatur branch and the Vinings - Home Depot branch (for Home Depot employees only).
    • Open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM in all locations Monday—Friday, and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday.
  • Contact Center Hours:
    • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: Open 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
    • Wednesday: Open 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
    • Saturday: Open 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Lastly, we want to remind you that we offer several other ways that you can continue to bank seamlessly from the comfort of your own home or while honoring social distancing:

  • Login to Online Banking.
  • Download our ACU Mobile App to deposit checks, pay bills, and transfer money.
  • Download our ACU Wallet App if you have an ACU Debit Card or ACU Credit Card for real-time transaction alerts and to turn your card on and off.

Important Update: May 4, 2020

At Associated Credit Union, there is nothing more important to us than the health and safety of our teammates and members. With that being said, we are in the process of developing a comprehensive plan to reopen our lobbies that follows strict social distancing guidelines to keep you and our teammates safe.

When the time comes to open our lobbies, we want you to feel comfortable every time you walk through our doors. Every day, we will be taking extra steps to ensure the health and safety of our teammates and our members. We will keep everyone posted on updates.

Important Update: April 15, 2020

What to know about the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act)

Our government passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), which is a $2 trillion stimulus bill to address the economic crisis caused by COVID-19. The bill includes direct payments to many of our members who qualify.

The below is our understanding of the program. If you want the exact mechanics of the CARES Act, then we suggest you click the link below to go to the IRS Economic Impact Payments webpage.

https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments

How do I get my money?

The money would likely be deposited directly into your ACU account -- as long as you already authorized the IRS to send your tax refund via direct deposit to your ACU account in the past two years. If you authorized direct deposit via another checking account, it should deposit into that account. If you have not authorized direct deposit for your 2018 or 2019 tax filings, the IRS will send out checks in the mail.

What if I didn’t authorize the IRS to send my tax refund to my ACU account?

If the IRS doesn’t have your direct deposit information from the 2018 or 2019 tax return, and you haven’t received your payment, please click this link (https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment) to let the IRS know where to send your direct deposit.

When will I receive my money?

ACU has no way of knowing how long it would take the IRS to send your money. We’ve read that the IRS would begin issuing payments in April 2020.

What if my ACU Savings or Checking account is closed?

If you authorized the IRS to send your tax refund to your ACU Savings or Checking account, but the ACU account is closed, then the IRS will mail your check.
